Mushrooms are edible fungus that give important nutrients to the body. The many sorts of mushroom have varying compositions and nutritional profiles. It is best to cook in pasta, or soup. But do you know that mushrooms can be included in our diet?

You can eat any varieties of mushrooms on the diet. They are low-calorie and low-carb, and they offer lots of fibre, potassium, B vitamins, iron, and even a little protein. Use them to exchange the starch or meat in an entree, and you will lower the calorie count significantly. Let’s check out a few simple recipes of mushrooms that are good for dieting.
Simple recipes of mushrooms good for diet
Here are three simple mushroom recipes that you can try for your daily diet:

Garlic Mushroom

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter (ghee, coconut oil, or other oil may be substituted)
  • 5 ounces mushrooms sliced (shiitake, wild mushrooms, portabellas, or button mushrooms all work)
  • 1 clove garlic crushed
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon parsley minced
  • sea salt
  • freshly ground pepper
  • How to make garlic mushroom:

  • Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add butter and melt.
  • When butter has melted and has stopped foaming, stir in mushrooms. Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper. Cook mushrooms, stirring
    occasionally, until tender.
  • Stir in garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook until the garlic is fragrant. Turn off the heat
  • Taste and adjust seasoning. Stir in parsley flakes just before serving.
  • 2. Mushroom Cheesesteak

    Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon canola or olive oil
  • 2 large portobello mushrooms, stems and gills removed, sliced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 slices provolone
  • 4 soft whole-wheat hoagie rolls, split and toasted
  • How to make mushroom cheesesteak:

  • Heat 1⁄2 tablespoon oil in a large sauté pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add the portobello slices and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes, until nicely caramelized.
  • Transfer to a plate. Heat the remaining 1⁄2 tablespoon oil in the same pan.
  • Add the onion and pepper and cook for about 5 minutes, until softened and beginning to brown.
  • Return the mushrooms to the pan and stir in the soy sauce and Worcestershire.
  • Cook for another 2 minutes, until the vegetables have absorbed most of the liquid.
  • Remove and put it on the table, season with salt and pepper.
  • Divide the vegetables into four piles in the pan and top each with a slice of cheese (the residual heat will help to melt it).
  • Once the cheese has begun to melt, tuck the vegetable piles into the rolls.
  • 3. Mushroom Jacket Potato

    Ingredients

  • 2 large potatoes
  • 2 tablespoon sunflower oil
  • 250g mushroom
  • 100g sour cream & chive dip sprigs of dill (to garnish)
  • How to make mushroom jacket potato:

  • Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Prick the potatoes everywhere with a fork and rub with half the sunflower-seed oil. Bake the potatoes for 1 hr 20 mins.
  • Slice the mushrooms, toss and fry it inside the remaining oil, then stir through half the soured cream & chive dip. Pile the mushrooms into the jacket potatoes and garnish with dill.
